The position is embedded an EU-horizon funded, interdisciplinary project. The main objective of SPIN-FERT is to integrate optimised and validated innovations in soil management practices and improve peat-free substrates to enhance soil health in vegetable, fruit and ornamental crops. Multi-actor approach is at the core of SPIN-FERT methodology and consortium for extensive knowledge transfer and co-design. The University of Hohenheim will be responsible to identify drivers and barriers for the acceptance peat-free substitute of involved stakeholders in horticulture.

Task areas:

• Empirical market research and data analyses for the target countries France, Italy and Poland which are:
  • Focus group discussions
  • Qualitative in-depth interviews
  • Quantitative stakeholder surveys
• Working and commitment in an international project consortium
• Scientific publications
• A doctorate in the field of agricultural economy is pursued

Job profile:

• University degree with at least a good grade in agricultural economics / plant sciences, food economics or a related subject
• Enjoy scientific work
• Great interest in quantitative and qualitative empirical research
• Willingness to familiarize yourself with statistical methods
• Independent and autonomous work, willingness to work in a team, good conceptual and analytical skills, organizational and communication skills
• Very good written and spoken English skills. French, German, Italian or Polish, Italian language skills are required.
