Report press conference for SPIN-FERT media

On 24 October 2024, the National Institute of Horticultural Research (INHORT) held a press conference devoted to the SPIN-FERT project, the main objective of which is to promote activities aimed at soil improvement and production of peat-free growing media. The event brought together media representatives, including journalists from specialized technical magazines and regional radio and TV broadcasting channels.
The conference included presentations by representatives of all Polish partners. Prof. Dr. hab Eligio Malusà (INHORT), as project coordinator, introduced the project goals and issues related to soils health and the development of peat-free substrates. Prof. Dr. hab. Joanna Hoffmann (ASSF / Art & Science Node / University of Arts in Poznań) showed how art can support the transfer of scientific knowledge toward common citizens. Dr. Krzysztof Ambroziak (Intermag) discussed the aspects of the production process of microbial products. Prof. Dr. hab. Magdalena Frąc (Institute of Agrophysics-PAS) explained the mechanisms of interaction between microorganisms and plants.
The conference was concluded with a discussion and a practical workshop for the attendees, where participants had the opportunity to experience the link between the smell of the soil with the personal emotions it brings from the memory.
Media reports were broadcasted on the news of the regional channel of the Polish Television (TVP3) and radio and are expected also to be published in major magazines.
