SPIN-FERT at the 13th International Blueberry Conference

The 13th Blueberry Conference, organised by Hortus Media, took place in Ożarów Mazowiecki on 6-7 March 2025. Dr hab. Małgorzata Tartanus was invited to present a lecture on soil-feeding pests which are a major threat to blueberry plantations. Malgorzata took the opportunity to familiarise the participants with the concepts and activities of SPIN-FERT, particularly about the research on soil health improvement and the production of peat-free growing media, which can also support pest and disease control. Of particular interest for the audience was the goal of producing peat-free substrates also testing them on blueberry grown in pots. This aspect raised a specific interest among the participants and served to promote the discussion about the interactions of these innovative substrates and plant growth and health.
