Technical Day on Growing Substrates
September 24 All day
Passariano (Udine – Italy)
Presentation of SPIN-FERT Project by the Italian Society of Horticulture (SOI) was held on 24 September in Passariano (Udine – Italy).
Promoting and optimizing alternative substrates to peat for horticultural crops. With the European project SPIN-FERT, in which Ri.Nova is collaborating, the aim is to improve the health of European soils and sustainable horticultural practices. New sustainable peat-free substrates will be developed from agricultural by-products that will be enriched with biostimulants (microbial strains and/or humic extracts), selected to improve their characteristics and applicability. The innovative formulations will be tested in four European countries: Italy, Poland, France and the UK. The project was presented with a short communication at the ‘Technical Day on Growing Substrates’ organized by the Italian Society of Horticulture (SOI) on 24 September in Passariano (Udine – Italy) by Sara Turci, researcher in integrated and organic production for Ri.Nova.
