š± SPIN-FERT General Assembly 26-29 May 2026 in Nantes:Ā Advancing Sustainable Soil Solutions Together

This week, the SPIN-FERT consortium gathered in Nantes, France, for the General Assembly hosted by consortium partner CTIFL. Over three intensive days, researchers, industry partners, growers, and innovation experts from across Europe came together to review progress, share results, and plan the next steps toward healthier soils and peat-free horticulture.
The meeting brought together all SPIN-FERT work packages, covering:
š¬ Development of innovative biostimulants and peat-free substrates
š± Demonstration of sustainable soil management practices in horticultural systems
š Advanced tools for rapid soil quality assessment
š Soil biodiversity and ecosystem services for policy support
š£ Communication, dissemination, training, and stakeholder engagement
ā»ļø Sustainability assessment of innovative products and cropping systems



The General Assembly also included discussions with the European Commission Project Officer, opportunities for collaboration with other Mission Soil initiatives, and a visit to CTIFL field trials, which provided valuable insights into practical implementation and demonstration activities.
