SPIN-FERT research at the 10th EuChemS Chemistry Congress (ECC10)

July 12 July 16

Antwerp, Belgium

SPIN-FERT research was presented at the 10th EuChemS Chemistry Congress (ECC10) in Antwerp, Belgium, bringing the project’s work on innovative and sustainable biostimulant solutions to the international chemistry community.

A researcher from Eurecat – Technology Centre, Robert Guiu Sans, participated in the congress and presented the poster “Development of plant growth-promoting bacteria with artificial humic acid capsules for enhanced agricultural sustainability.”

The research, carried out within the framework of a PhD thesis at Eurecat and linked to the SPIN-FERT project, focuses on the development of innovative capsules that combine plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) with artificial humic acids. The approach aims to enhance the effectiveness and use of microbial biostimulants, thereby improving agricultural and horticultural productivity while reducing reliance on conventional agrochemicals.

Participation in ECC10 provided an important opportunity to share SPIN-FERT-related research with the wider scientific community, exchange knowledge with researchers from diverse fields of chemistry, and explore new perspectives on how chemical innovation can contribute to more sustainable agriculture.

The congress featured a broad programme of scientific talks, presentations and poster sessions, highlighting the role of chemistry in addressing contemporary environmental and societal challenges.

The presented research was supported by the Vicente López Programme – Eurecat PhD grant, the SPIN-FERT consortium, and the European Union through Horizon Europe.

SPIN-FERT is pleased to see its research and innovations reaching international scientific audiences and contributing to the dialogue on the future of sustainable fertilisation, biostimulants and resilient horticulture.
